LFK is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to increasing economically underprivileged students' access to computer resources, thereby better equipping such students in order to open up avenues and opportunities that might otherwise have been unavailable in the absence of their own computer.
Be a facilitator of digital literacy for thousands of children regardless of their financial limitations, closing the income gap of owning a computer.
We believe that every child deserves access to quality education and access to the internet, regardless of their economic circumstances. Today and moving forward, this requires owning a computer.

The gift from Laptops for Kids will allow us to continue to provide educational opportunities for our members and support the academic enrichment initiatives of our community,” said Steve Melton, COO, Madison Square Boys & Girls Club. COVID-19 has severely impacted the children of the Boys & Girls Club, with club members facing such learning impediments as the lack of access to computers and the internet. Many also experience food and shelter insecurities. With this donation, Madison Square Boys & Girls Club can continue to bolster their ability to provide a safe and effective place to learn.
Over the summer we distributed the 56 laptops from LaptopsForKids to teens in foster care, homeless youth, pregnant or parenting teenagers, youth with challenges, disabilities and other underprivileged teens. Many of the youth are using their computers to learn how to become financially independent and self-sustaining by earning income online through our Techie Youth Learn to E-Earn program, which would not be possible for them without this generous gift from LFK.

It's simple: Imagine navigating the modern world without any sort of computer or internet access. Unfortunately, that's the reality for more 500,000 households in New York City alone. By donating, you're helping at least one child engage in distance learning, conduct research, blow off steam and even socialize with their friends and loved ones.
Schools regularly face budget challenges, especially those in low-income communities. Technology is more important now than ever before, and without assistance schools will continue to struggle to provide resources to the students most in need.
But most importantly, a child receives a computer for free or access to a free computer!
